I’m thinking about Business School… Now what?
Allie Feiner, Senior Consultant at Deloitte
Hi, I’m Allie!
Hi there, my name is Allie Feiner and I currently live in Nashville Tennessee, though it’s been quite a journey that has brought me here. I grew up in New Rochelle, NY and attended Tulane University in New Orleans in the Wake of Hurricane Katrina. While I originally came to Nashville to earn my MBA at the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University, I am now proud to call it home. I’ve made a few stops along the way but am currently a Human Capital Consultant with Deloitte. When I’m not traveling or working you will almost certainly find me out in Franklin at the barn with my horse Rocco.
My experience
The decision to pursue an MBA was one of the most frightening, bold, and rewarding choices I have made in my life. I had reached a point in my previous career and personal life where I knew I needed a “reset” in order to achieve my goals. I hadn’t had much exposure to MBAs so the decision felt scary. I armed myself with research and took a calculated risk that ended up opening more doors than I ever could have imagined. Additionally, going through the process of recruiting for and receiving an MBA showed me just the tip of what I am capable of if I set my focus and intention on something. I think when deciding to get an MBA there are a few important questions that you need to ask yourself: will an MBA help me propel my career in my chosen field? Am I ready to move to the target? A lot of the time the right school then the right job post-MBA may require some flexibility and mobility. Its okay if you have restrictions, just know them going in and know what you are willing to compromise on such as location, industry, etc.
