10 Best Podcasts for Female Millennials - Quarantine Edition

With quarantine, a lot of us are looking for things that will provide entertainment, a distraction, or some positivity. After spending the last few weeks listening to a variety of podcasts- I've created another list of Top 10 Podcast Recommendations for Millennial Women-Quarantine Edition- including my favorite episodes. Enjoy!

#1) Hello Monday: Business

LinkedIn’s Jessi Hempel sits down with industry and business experts to unpack how the nature of work is evolving.  Discussions with individuals like TaskRabbit founder Leah Busque Solivan and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella provide recommendations to listeners on how members of the workforce should evolve to be successful as society continuously changes.

#2) What I Wore When: Fashion

Hosted by Glamour digital director Perrie Samotin, this weekly podcast features influential women to discuss what they wore during a critical moment in their professional or personal lives.  A perfect podcast for fashion lovers as listeners discover the outfit choices (and occasional regrets) of fascinating women. However, the conversations also celebrate authenticity and individuality, as well as highlight the impact of small decisions in our lives.

Arianna Huffington’s podcast Thrive drives the mission of her self-founded international company which is teaching and encouraging individuals to prioritize wellbeing and practice self-care.  Episodes include tools and micro steps to improve overall health and prevent burnout.

#4) She’s So Cool: History

She’s So Cool narrates inspiring and empowering life stories of female trailblazers throughout history.  There is a variety and diversity in the collection from Lizzo to Cleopatra. Host Adrienne White has recently started an interview series with women who have quit their jobs to become entrepreneurs and are living the theme of “She’s So Cool.”

This podcast equips listeners with the necessary information to stay informed on the state of the global economy.  Host Jake Siewert unpacks market trends to help listeners build a foundation in understanding and analyzing how economic developments impact their lives.

#6) Freakonomics: Documentary

This podcast derived from the multiple award-winning novel Freakonomics and is hosted by one of the co- authors, New York Times journalist Stephen J Dubner.  The essence of “freakonomics” is challenging societal assumptions to uncover hidden truths by applying basic economic theories. Example questions include; how much does your name matter or should America be run by Trader Joes.  Listeners can learn the value in challenging the status quo, determining the right questions to ask, and thinking unconventionally.
